The Nottingham BioResource Service already has ethics approval for research purposes.
This makes requesting and accessing tissue and data a simple process enabling researchers to carry out their research quickly and efficiently.

Who can use our services

The Nottingham BioResource is a resource to support research taking place in the NHS in Nottingham including through the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre and NIHR Nottingham Clinical Research Facility. We also work with our research partners in the University of Nottingham and other universities. We also work with the life sciences industry including SMEs.

What we offer

We can provide cohorts specifically matched to research study criteria.

The Nottingham BioResource has a wide range of samples, covering diseases ranging from COVID-19 to cancers including breast, lung and liver donated thanks to the many thousands of volunteers who have agreed to provide samples for use in clinical research.

Costs

The costing table provides typical costs for the use of the Nottingham BioResource Service. Charges will be invoiced to your organisation and our payment terms are [insert Ts&Cs].

The scale of charges will be reviewed on a regular basis and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust reserves the right to change or amend charges without notice.

Sample collection and processing	Approximately 1 hour per sample set (STC). For aliquot costs then divide by the average number of aliquots; multiply up if multiple aliquots are to be provided.	Hourly rate	Up to £107.95 per sample
Processing of sample shipment to requesting organisation	7.5 hours minimum needed but this may vary based on the complexity of request of the number of shipments	Hourly rate	Starting from £809.63 per shipment
